Sir Adamjee Institute (SAI) shaped into reality the longing of the Pakistan Memon Educational and Welfare Society (PMEWS) to provide a mass section of society the basic right to get education. PMEWS, constituted on January 26, 1955 was a continuation of All India Memon Educational  and Welfare Society formed in 1933.

Sir Adamjee Institute, set up by the "Pakistan Memon Educational and Welfare Society" has, Under an MOU with the "Commecs Educational Trust", decided to launch its Intermediate programme from September 2004.

For PMEWS, the singular purpose of providing high quality education to the deserving and talented sections of society  saw new light with its collaboration with the Commecs Educational Trust when it was decided to launch an Intermediate (Commerce) programme in the first  phase followed by Pre-Engineering in 2005 and Pre-Medical in 2006. It goes to credit of highly qualified and dedicated teaching its staff that the college achieved 100% result in its first appearance BIE Annual Examinations. The college, since then has maintained its reputation and has emerged as one of the premier institution of Karachi. SAI is an everlasting tribute and acknowledgment to a great visionary of the sub- continent,  Sir Adamjee. The institute was inaugurated on February 12, 2000 by the then Honourable Interior Minister.
